The “My Servers” page: the server card
The information and buttons on each server card, and how to use them.
On this page
The “My Servers” page (app.blackbox.md/my-servers, sidebar → “Infrastructure” → “My Servers”) shows the servers in your account, one card per server. Each card shows the server's IP address, plan and resources, along with the buttons for credentials, reboot, SSH keys, upgrade and deletion.
Available to: the blackbox.md account owner, in the app.blackbox.md panel. You see the servers ordered from your account and, if BLACKBOX has given you access, your company's servers managed by our team.
The blackbox.md website is available in Romanian and Russian; this article quotes the Romanian labels with their English meaning.
How to open the page
- Enter the app.blackbox.md panel from your blackbox.md account. See Opening the app.blackbox.md panel from your account.
- In the sidebar, under “Infrastructure”, click “My Servers”.
- The “My Servers” page opens, with the subtitle “Servers provisioned to your account.”
The cards are laid out in a grid, from the newest server to the oldest; on a phone, one per row. The page shows only active servers: once a server's permanent deletion has been carried out, its card disappears. The list does not refresh on its own, so reload the page to see a new server.
Page messages
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| “Loading…” | The server list is loading. | Wait a few seconds. |
| “Failed to load servers.” (or other text, in a red box) | The list could not be read, for example because your session has expired. | Reload the page and, if needed, sign in to the panel again. If the error persists, write to us. |
| “You don't have any servers yet. Order one from the shop and it will appear here once it's ready.” | The account has no active servers. | If you have paid for an order, wait for activation and reload the page. See The server does not appear after payment. |
| “No servers are linked to your account yet.” | The account you used to sign in to the panel is not linked to a blackbox.md account. | Sign out and enter the panel from the blackbox.md account that placed the order. See The panel shows “No servers found”. |
The card header
| Element | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The private name you gave the server. Without a private name, the internal name appears: for servers ordered on blackbox.md, bbx- followed by the order number, for example bbx-bbx-2026-000023 for order BBX-2026-000023. Without an internal name, the IP address appears. Long names are shortened; hold the pointer over the name to see it in full. |
| The pencil (“Rename”) | Opens the field for the private name. See Renaming a server (private name). |
| “Key-only” | SSH password login is disabled: you connect only with an SSH key. |
| “Password + key” | The server accepts SSH login with either a password or a key. |
| “Managed” | Your company's server, managed by the BLACKBOX team. Below the server details, the note “This server is looked after by our team. To request a change, please contact support.” appears. The card has no management buttons; you can only give the server a private name. See The “Overview” page. |
active |
The green status label (see below). |
The “Key-only” and “Password + key” badges appear only when the panel knows how the server handles SSH login. You change it with the “Disable password login” and “Enable password login” buttons.
The page shows only active servers, so the status label always reads active. It does not show whether the server is running or stopped.
Server details
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| “Original name” | Appears only if you have given the server a private name: the internal name or the IP address. This is the name you type when you permanently delete the server. |
| “Order” | The number of the order the server was created from, for example BBX-2026-000123. Not shown if the server is not linked to an order in your account. |
| “IP” | The server's public IP address. The copy button next to it (tooltip “Copy this server's IP address”) copies the address, and “Copied” appears for 1.5 seconds. |
| “Plan” | The plan code, for example vm-iops1-m (Standard M). Which plan each code stands for: VPS plans: how to choose. Not shown if the panel does not know the server's plan. |
| “Spec” | The server's resources, in this order: processors, RAM, disk, for example 2 vCPU · 4 GB · 40 GB. Not shown if the panel does not know the server's resources. |
| “Added” | The date and time the server was added to the panel, in your browser's format. |
If your browser blocks access to the clipboard, “Copied” does not appear: select the address and copy it manually.
The card buttons
| Button | What it does | Details |
|---|---|---|
| “Reveal credentials” | After you confirm, shows the saved root username and password on the card (“Username”, “Password”). | Showing root credentials |
| “Reset password” | Generates a new root password on the server and shows it in the same box. The old password stops working. | Resetting the root password |
| “Reboot”, “Stop”, “Start” | Reboots, stops or starts the server. “Stop” and “Start” are both shown, whatever state the server is in: the panel does not show whether the server is running. | Rebooting, stopping and starting a server |
| “Disable password login” / “Enable password login” | Disables or re-enables SSH password login. Appears together with the “Key-only” or “Password + key” badge. | Enabling and disabling SSH password login |
| “Upgrade” | Opens the “Upgrade server” dialog: moving to a larger plan in the same family, paid from your balance. | Server upgrade: moving to a larger plan |
| “Terminate” (red) | Opens the “Terminate server” dialog. The server is deleted after a 24-hour grace period, during which you can cancel the deletion. | Permanently deleting a server |
| “Add SSH key” | Opens the “Installed keys” list below the buttons, along with the form for adding a key to the server. Click it again to close the section. | Adding and removing SSH keys on the server |
| “Backups” | Opens the backup section. The service is not available (see below). | Backup strategy for your server |
“Upgrade”, “Terminate” and “Backups” appear only on servers ordered from your account.
Note The panel has no web or VNC console. You work with the server over SSH: Connecting to your server over SSH (Windows, macOS, Linux). If you can no longer connect, see Lost access to your server (password or key) or write to us.
What you see after you click a button
- For most actions, the panel first asks you to confirm in a browser window, for example “Reboot bbx-bbx-2026-000023?”. While the request is running, the button is inactive.
- When an action succeeds, no confirmation message appears. “Reveal credentials” and “Reset password” show the box with “Username” and “Password”, which stays on the card until you reload the page. “Reboot”, “Stop” and “Start” only make the button active again, and the action continues on the server. The password login button changes its text, and the badge switches to “Key-only” or “Password + key”.
- If the action fails, the message appears in a red box below the server details. It can be a panel message (for example “Failed to change password login.”), a technical code (for example
power_action_failed) or a phrase that stays in English in every panel language (for example “Rate limit exceeded — …”). The explanations are in Panel error messages and what they mean. - During an upgrade, a label with the current stage appears below the details, for example “Queued”. The label is visible only in the browser tab where you started the upgrade.
Opening the card from “Comenzi” (Orders) on blackbox.md
- On blackbox.md, open “Contul meu” (My account) → “Comenzi” (Orders).
- On the order's row, click “Gestionează în app.blackbox.md” (Manage in app.blackbox.md): the icon with an arrow pointing outward; on a phone, it is in the “Mai multe acțiuni” (More actions) menu. The same link is also in “Vezi detaliile” (View details).
- The panel opens in a new tab, on the “My Servers” page. The page scrolls to the card of the order's server, which is highlighted with a colored border.
The button appears only on orders that have a server. See The “Comenzi” (Orders) page: statuses and actions.
The “Backups” button
- Click “Backups” on the server card.
- “Loading…” appears, then a red box with the technical message
backup_extra_disabled. - The button changes to “Hide backups”. Click it to close the section.
The backup_extra_disabled message means that the automatic backup service is not available. It is not a fault of your server, and the data on it is not affected.
Important BLACKBOX currently does not make automatic backups of your server. Make your own backups, on a system other than the server itself: see Backup strategy for your server.
Frequently asked questions
Why is my server called bbx-bbx-…?
This is the internal name, made up of bbx- and the order number. You can give the server a private name with the “Rename” pencil. When you permanently delete the server, however, you type the original name (the IP address only if the server has no name).
The label shows active, but the server does not respond.
The label does not show whether the server is running. If you stopped it, click “Start”. If you still can't connect, see I can't connect over SSH.
After an upgrade, “Plan” still shows the old code. After an upgrade, “Spec” shows the new resources, but “Plan” may keep the code of the original plan. You can see the current plan code on blackbox.md, in “Comenzi” (Orders) → “Vezi detaliile” (View details) → “Tip” (Type).
I asked for the server to be deleted, but the card is still there. The deletion is carried out after the 24-hour grace period. Until then, the card stays on the page, and you can cancel the deletion from “Terminate”. Once the deletion has been carried out, the card disappears.
I see a server with the “Managed” badge. It is your company's server, managed by the BLACKBOX team: you can see it, but not manage it. For changes, write to us. If BLACKBOX has given you management rights on a company server, the badge is missing and you see some of the buttons; details in The “Overview” page.
