After payment: server activation and emails
What happens after payment, what the “Serverul dvs. este gata” (Your server is ready) email contains and where to find your server in the panel.
On this page
After you pay for an order on blackbox.md (by card or from your balance), its status in “Contul meu” (My account) → “Comenzi” (Orders) (/account/orders) changes, you receive confirmation emails, and the server appears in the app.blackbox.md panel, under “My Servers” (app.blackbox.md/my-servers). Below you'll find each step and what to do if something takes longer than expected.
The blackbox.md website is available in Romanian and Russian; this article quotes the Romanian labels with their English meaning.
Available to: the blackbox.md account holder who paid for the order.
What changes right after payment
Whether you paid by card or from your balance:
| Where | What you see |
|---|---|
| “Comenzi” (Orders) | the order status changes from “Nou” (New) to “În lucru” (In progress) |
“Plată confirmată — BBX-…” (Payment confirmed — BBX-…), with the amount paid and the PDF invoice attached (factura-BBX-….pdf) |
|
| “Facturi” (Invoices) | an invoice with the same number as the order (BBX-…) and the status “Achitată” (Paid) |
Emails come from the sender “BlackBox” and go to your account's email address. The subject is always in Romanian; the text is in your account's language (Romanian or Russian). See Language of the website, the panel and emails.
Keep the “Plată confirmată” (Payment confirmed) email: you can't download the PDF from the “Facturi” (Invoices) page. Details: The “Facturi” (Invoices) page: statuses, numbers and PDF.
How the server is activated
| Plan type | Activation |
|---|---|
VPS plans (/servers/plans) |
automatically, usually within a few minutes after the payment is confirmed |
| “VPS hosting” | the server is created the same way; our team may contact you for details. Ask support which control panel is installed and how you get the login details for it: “VPS hosting” plans with a control panel |
| Dedicated servers | prepared manually by our team; we contact you about the operating system, the delivery time and the access details: Dedicated servers |
When the server is created:
- you receive the email “Serverul dvs. este gata — BBX-…” (Your server is ready — BBX-…);
- in “Comenzi” (Orders), the line “Server: …” with the IP address appears under the order description;
- the server appears in the panel, under “My Servers”.
The order stays “În lucru” (In progress) even after the server is running: only our team sets the status “Finalizat” (Completed). See The “Comenzi” (Orders) page: statuses and actions.
What the “Serverul dvs. este gata” (Your server is ready) email contains
The content depends on the login method you chose when you ordered (The SSH key at order time and “key-only” servers):
| Field in the email | Password mode | “doar cheie SSH” (SSH key only) mode |
|---|---|---|
| “Adresă IP” (IP address) | yes | yes |
| “Utilizator” (User) | root |
— |
| “Parolă” (Password) | the root password | — |
| “Autentificare” (Authentication) | — | “Cheie SSH — autentificarea cu parolă este dezactivată” (SSH key — password authentication is disabled) |
| “Sistem de operare” (Operating system) | yes | yes |
| “Conectare SSH” (SSH connection) | ssh root@SERVER_IP |
ssh root@SERVER_IP |
| “Amprente chei” (Key fingerprints) | — | the fingerprints of your keys |
- In password mode, the email recommends changing the password right after your first login (the
passwdcommand) and setting up SSH key authentication. Further down, you'll see how to change the password so that the panel shows the new one too. - In “doar cheie SSH” (SSH key only) mode, the email says that the console password is in the panel, “pentru acces de urgență prin consola VNC” (for emergency access via the VNC console).
Note The mention of the VNC console in the email does not apply: customers have no web or VNC console. You manage the server over SSH and with the buttons in the panel. A “key-only” server also has a root password, which you can see with “Reveal credentials”, but it works over SSH only if you turn password authentication back on (“Enable password login”): Enabling and disabling SSH password login.
Your first connection
Run the command from the email:
ssh root@SERVER_IPThe email may arrive about a minute before the server starts responding over SSH. If your first attempt fails (for example with “Connection refused” or a connection timeout), wait a minute and try again. Details: Connecting to your server over SSH (Windows, macOS, Linux). If it still doesn't work: I can't connect over SSH.
Where to find your server in the panel
From the “Comenzi” (Orders) page (fastest)
- Open “Contul meu” (My account) → “Comenzi” (Orders).
- On the row of the order that shows the “Server: …” line, click the arrow icon, “Gestionează în app.blackbox.md” (Manage in app.blackbox.md). When you hover over it, you see the text “Serverul este activ. Îl poți administra sau dezactiva în app.blackbox.md.” (The server is active. You can manage or deactivate it in app.blackbox.md.) The same button is also in the order details (the eye icon, “Vezi detaliile” (View details)); on a phone, you'll find it in the three-dot menu (⋮).
- The panel opens in a new tab, signs you in automatically and shows “My Servers”, with this server's card highlighted.
From the account menu
- Open “Contul meu” (My account) → “Panou de administrare” (Admin panel) (in the side menu).
- In the panel menu, click “My Servers”.
Among other things, the server card shows “Order” (the BBX number), “IP” (with a copy button), “Plan”, “Spec”, “Added” and the buttons “Reveal credentials”, “Reset password”, “Reboot”, “Stop”, “Start”. Details: The “My Servers” page: the server card.
Note The panel usually opens on the “Overview” page, which may show “No servers found. Contact an administrator to get access.” This is normal: servers ordered on
blackbox.mdare under “My Servers”.
Security after your first login
- Change the root password or switch to SSH keys:
- new password: in the panel, click “Reset password” and confirm (“The current password stops working immediately.”). The new password appears on the card, and the panel remembers it: Resetting the root password;
- SSH keys: add your key to the server (Adding and removing SSH keys on the server). Keep your current SSH session open, check in a second terminal that you can log in with the key, and only then click “Disable password login”.
- Delete or archive the “Serverul dvs. este gata” (Your server is ready) email, which contains the password.
Important If you change the password on the server with
passwd, the panel doesn't know about it: “Reveal credentials” will keep showing the old password. To keep the password in the panel and the one on the server the same, use “Reset password”.

You didn't receive the email or the server
First, check the order status in “Comenzi” (Orders):
| What you see | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| “Nou” (New) | the payment has not been confirmed | The payment failed or the status did not update |
| “În lucru” (In progress), without the “Server: …” line | the server is being prepared (a dedicated server is prepared manually) | wait a little longer; for a dedicated server, we will contact you |
| “În lucru” (In progress), with the “Server: …” line | the server exists | look for the email and open “My Servers” |
Then:
- Look for the “Serverul dvs. este gata” (Your server is ready) email in your Spam and Promotions folders as well.
- If the server still doesn't appear after a reasonable time, write to support with your order number
BBX-…: at support@blackbox.md or through a support ticket in “Contul meu” (My account) → “Ajutor și suport” (Help and support). Details: The server does not appear after payment.
Frequently asked questions
I deleted the email with the password. Where can I find it?
In the panel, on the server card: “Reveal credentials”. The panel shows the password it has saved; if you changed it with passwd, generate a new one with “Reset password”. See Showing root credentials.
The email doesn't contain a password. Is this a mistake? No. When you ordered, you attached an SSH key with the “Dezactivează autentificarea prin parolă (doar cheie SSH)” (Disable password authentication (SSH key only)) option, so you log in with the key. The email lists the fingerprints of your keys.
Why is my server named bbx-bbx-2026-000123?
It's the internal name, built from the order number. You can give it a name that only you see, with the “Rename” pencil next to the name: Renaming a server (private name).
