The “Overview” page
Why the panel's first page may show “No servers found” and when it shows audit reports.
On this page
The “Overview” page (app.blackbox.md/, sidebar → “Infrastructure” → “Overview”) is the first page you see after you sign in to the app.blackbox.md panel. Its title is “Server Audit Reports”: it shows the audit reports for the servers that BLACKBOX manages for companies. Servers you ordered on blackbox.md don't appear here; you'll find them in “My Servers”.
Available to: any customer signed in to the panel. Audit reports appear only if BLACKBOX has given you access to the servers of a company it manages.
The blackbox.md website is available in Romanian and Russian; this article quotes the Romanian labels with their English meaning.
When you land on this page
The panel opens “Overview” when you:
- click “Deschide panoul” (Open the panel) or “Panou de administrare” (Admin panel) in “Contul meu” (My account) on blackbox.md (Opening the app.blackbox.md panel from your account);
- sign in directly at
app.blackbox.md/login(Signing in directly to app.blackbox.md); - click the logo at the top of the sidebar.
Tip To go straight to a server you ordered, open “Contul meu” → “Comenzi” (Orders) on blackbox.md and click “Gestionează în app.blackbox.md” (Manage in app.blackbox.md) on that order. “My Servers” opens with the server's card highlighted.
“No servers found”: the empty page
If you only have servers ordered on blackbox.md, the page looks like this:
- the title “Server Audit Reports”, with only “· 0 servers” under it and no date;
- the badges “0 Servers”, “0 Reachable”, “0 Unreachable”, “0 Critical Disk”, “0 Not Audited”;
- the text “No servers found. Contact an administrator to get access.”
This is normal: nothing is missing, and you don't need to ask for access. To find your servers:
- In the sidebar, under “Infrastructure”, click “My Servers”.
- The “My Servers” page opens, with one card for each active server. Details: The “My Servers” page: the server card.
If the server is missing from “My Servers” too, see The panel shows “No servers found”.
Audit reports for managed servers
If you have access to the servers of a company managed by BLACKBOX, the badges show real numbers, and under the title you see the date and time of the last audit (in UTC) and the number of servers.
The “Summary” block has six tiles:
| Tile | What it counts |
|---|---|
| “Total Servers” | All the servers you have access to |
| “Reachable” | Servers the last audit was able to connect to (status OK or PARTIAL) |
| “Unreachable” | All other servers, including those not audited yet |
| “Critical Disk ≥90%” | Servers with at least one partition that is 90% full or more |
| “Missing fail2ban” | Servers on which the audit did not find fail2ban installed (including those not audited yet) |
| “Not Audited” | Servers that have no audit data yet |
The “All Servers” block contains the server table:
- the “Search name, IP, or domain…” search field and the “All Statuses”, “All Disk”, “Docker: Any”, “fail2ban: Any” and “Audit: Any” filters; if you have access to several companies, “All Clients” also appears. Once you search or choose a filter, the “Clear” button appears; it clears the search and the filters;
- the columns “Name / IP”, “OS”, “Role”, “Port”, “Docker”, “fail2ban”, “Disk %” (green below 80%, yellow at 80–89%, red from 90%), “Backup” (“Restic” or “None”), “Status” and “Actions”; with several companies, “Client” also appears.
| Value in “Status” | What it means |
|---|---|
OK (green) |
The audit connected and collected all the data |
PARTIAL (yellow) |
The audit connected but did not collect all the data |
Any other value (red), for example UNREACHABLE |
The audit could not connect to the server |
not audited (gray) |
The server has no audit data yet |
Note The data is not real-time: it comes from an audit that runs once a night. A recently added server shows
not auditeduntil the next audit.
How to open a server's report
- In “All Servers”, find the server: type its name, IP address or domain in the search field, or use the filters.
- Click “View” in the “Actions” column.
- The report opens. At the top you see the server name, the IP address with the port, the operating system, the status and the audit date. The sections are collapsed: click a section's title to expand it.
- To go back to the list, click “← Back”.
The report sections are “Docker”, “Identity” (the system and its uptime), “Resources” (CPU, RAM, disks), “Running Services”, “Network” (the ports services listen on and the UFW rules), “Nginx”, “Databases”, “Cron & Backups”, “Security” (fail2ban and the SSH settings) and “Recommendations” (the problems found and what is recommended). The report is read-only: you can't change anything from it. For any change, write to us.
Company servers in “My Servers”
Company servers also appear in “My Servers”. Their card has the “Managed” badge and the note “This server is looked after by our team. To request a change, please contact support.”
These servers are view-only: the card has no management buttons. The only thing you can do is give them a private name with the pencil button, “Rename” (Renaming a server (private name)). For a reboot, SSH keys or any other change, write to us.
On request, BLACKBOX can also give you management rights for a company's servers; some servers may still stay view-only. On the cards where you have these rights, the “Managed” badge and the note no longer appear; instead, you see the “Reveal credentials”, “Reset password”, “Reboot” and “Add SSH key” buttons. Some servers also show “Stop”, “Start” and the “Docker containers” block. The “Upgrade” and “Terminate” buttons never appear for company servers.
The “Docker containers” block
This block appears only on company servers where you have management rights and Docker is installed. It never appears on servers ordered on blackbox.md. The list is read directly from the server when the page opens (“Loading containers…”) and shows each container's name, image and state as Docker reports it (for example running or exited). If the server has no containers, you see “No containers found on this server.”
Each container has three buttons: ▶ (start), ■ (stop) and ↻ (restart). Each action asks for confirmation: “Start NAME?”, “Stop NAME?” or “Restart NAME?”, where NAME is the container's name. The result appears under the list: “NAME: start done.” (or stop, restart) or “NAME: action did not complete.”
Containers that belong to BLACKBOX's monitoring and security stack, and Docker Swarm tasks, have no buttons; they show the “Managed by BlackBox” badge instead. Hold the pointer over the badge to see why: “This container is part of our monitoring/security stack and can't be controlled here.” or “This container is managed by Docker Swarm and can't be controlled individually.”
Limits: 10 actions per minute for your account and 30 actions in 10 minutes per server; the list can be loaded at most 30 times per minute. If you see “Failed to load containers.” or “Action failed.”, wait a few minutes and reload the page; if the message appears again, write to us.
How you get access and how you lose it
- Write to us at support@blackbox.md or open a support ticket from “Contul meu” (My account) → “Ajutor și suport” (Help and support) (Opening a support ticket).
- Name the company whose servers BLACKBOX manages, and give the email address of your blackbox.md account.
- Once BLACKBOX grants you access, reload the “Overview” page or sign in again with “Deschide panoul” (Open the panel). The company's servers appear here and in “My Servers”.
Access is granted to your blackbox.md account, separately for each company. You can't give other people access yourself; to add a colleague, write to us.
If BLACKBOX withdraws your access to a company, your panel sessions end: the next time a page loads, you land on the sign-in page. Sign in again with “Deschide panoul”; that company's servers no longer appear.
Messages on the page
| Message | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| “Failed to load server data. Please try again later.” | The data could not be read | Reload the page later; if it happens again, write to us |
| “Audit data could not be loaded — servers are shown without audit status until the next successful refresh.” | The list appears, but without the audit data | Reload the page later |
| “No servers match the current filters.” | No server matches the filters | Click “Clear” |
| “No audit snapshot for this server yet. It will appear after the next nightly run.” (in the report) | The server has not been audited yet | Come back after the next nightly audit |
Frequently asked questions
I ordered a server, but the page tells me to contact an administrator. Do I need to? No. This page shows only the reports for servers that BLACKBOX manages for companies; your server is in “My Servers”. Write to us only if you expect to see the servers of such a company.
Can I make the panel open directly on “My Servers”? “Deschide panoul” (Open the panel), “Panou de administrare” (Admin panel) and signing in directly always take you to “Overview”. Use “Gestionează în app.blackbox.md” (Manage in app.blackbox.md) on the “Comenzi” (Orders) page (The “Comenzi” (Orders) page: statuses and actions), or click “My Servers” in the sidebar.
Can I reboot or change a server marked “Managed”? No. The report and the cards marked “Managed” are read-only. Write to us: How to contact BLACKBOX support.
Why was I suddenly signed out of the panel? BLACKBOX may have withdrawn your access to a company's servers. Your panel session also ends 8 hours after you sign in. In both cases, sign in again with “Deschide panoul”.
I want BLACKBOX to manage my company's servers. This is a service available on request: Professional services on request: administration, DevOps, migration.
