Signing in with Google or GitLab
How signing up and signing in with Google or GitLab work, linking to an existing account, and possible errors.
On this page
The “Google” and “GitLab” buttons let you create your BLACKBOX account and sign in to it without a separate password. The buttons are above the form, under “Autentificare cu” (Sign in with) or “Înregistrare cu” (Sign up with), on the “Autentificare” (Sign in) page (blackbox.md/login) and the “Creare cont” (Create account) page (blackbox.md/register). You reach the “Autentificare” page from the site header, through “Cont client” (Customer account).
Available to: any blackbox.md visitor who has a Google account or a GitLab.com account (not a self-hosted GitLab installation) with a verified email address.
The blackbox.md website is available in Romanian and Russian; this article quotes the Romanian labels with their English meaning.
How to sign in with Google or GitLab
- In the site header, click “Cont client” (Customer account). The “Autentificare” (Sign in) page opens. For a new account, click “Înregistrați-vă” (Sign up).
- Click “Google” or “GitLab”. The provider's page opens.
- Choose your account and confirm access. BLACKBOX takes only your name, email address and account identifier from that account.
- You return to blackbox.md and see the message “Se finalizează autentificarea…” (Finishing sign-in…).
- The page you started from opens (for example, your order) or “Profilul meu” (My profile) (
blackbox.md/account).
Your session lasts 8 hours, the same as when you sign in with a password. For details, see Signing in to blackbox.md and signing out.
Important Finish signing in within 10 minutes of clicking the button, in the same browser where you clicked it. Otherwise you see “Sesiunea de autentificare a expirat. Vă rugăm să reîncercați.” (The sign-in session has expired. Please try again.)
Which BLACKBOX account opens
The provider must confirm that your email address is verified. In GitLab, the account must also be confirmed and active. BLACKBOX then chooses the account as follows:
| Situation | Result |
|---|---|
| You have signed in with the same Google or GitLab account before | You enter the BLACKBOX account linked to it. |
| A BLACKBOX account with the same address exists, and the address is marked “Verificat” (Verified) | Google or GitLab is linked to this account automatically and you are signed in. The account password stays valid. |
| An account with the same address exists, but the address is marked “Neverificat” (Not verified) | Sign-in is refused. Sign in with your email and password, verify the address (Verifying your email address), then try again. |
| No account with this address exists | A new account is created. The address is marked “Verificat” and your name is taken from the provider. Your acceptance of the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy is recorded. The account has no password. |
On the “Creare cont” (Create account) page, the text “Continuând, acceptați Termenii și Condițiile și Politica de Confidențialitate.” (By continuing, you accept the Terms and Conditions and the Privacy Policy.) appears under the buttons. If you start from the “Autentificare” (Sign in) page and have no account, the new account is created the same way.
Error messages
If something goes wrong, the page shows a message and the “Înapoi la autentificare” (Back to sign-in) link.
| Message | What it means and what to do |
|---|---|
| “Sesiunea de autentificare a expirat. Vă rugăm să reîncercați.” (The sign-in session has expired. Please try again.) | More than 10 minutes have passed, you finished in a different browser, or you repeated a step you had already completed. Start again in the same browser. |
| “Autentificarea a fost anulată.” (Sign-in was canceled.) | You declined access on the Google or GitLab page. Start again and confirm access. |
| “Această metodă de autentificare este temporar indisponibilă.” (This sign-in method is temporarily unavailable.) | The method is not working right now. Sign in with your email and password, or try again later. |
| “Link-ul de autentificare a expirat. Vă rugăm să reîncercați.” (The sign-in link has expired. Please try again.) | The one-time code (valid for 60 seconds) has expired or has already been used. Start signing in again. |
| “Vă rugăm să folosiți un cont cu adresă de email verificată.” (Please use an account with a verified email address.) | The provider did not confirm your address. Verify it in your Google or GitLab account, or use another account. |
| “Există deja un cont cu acest email, dar adresa nu a fost verificată. Autentificați-vă normal și confirmați emailul.” (An account with this email already exists, but the address has not been verified. Sign in the usual way and confirm your email.) | Sign in with your email and password, verify the address, then try again. If you do not know the password, contact support. |
| “Autentificare eșuată: cod lipsă.” (Sign-in failed: missing code.) | The page opened without the data it needs. Start again from the “Autentificare” (Sign in) page. |
| “Autentificare eșuată. Vă rugăm să încercați din nou.” (Sign-in failed. Please try again.) | Another error, for example the provider did not respond. Try again; if it happens again, contact support. |
A page with the text {"detail":"Too many requests"} |
Too many attempts from the same IP address (limit: 30 per hour). Wait and try again. |
Note The completion page and the messages above appear in Romanian, even if you started from the Russian version of the site. After you sign in, your account usually opens in Romanian; switch the language in the header (RO / RU).
Accounts created with Google or GitLab have no password
| Where | What changes |
|---|---|
| “Profilul meu” (My profile) → “Securitatea contului” (Account security) | Only “Verificarea emailului” (Email verification) appears, marked “Verificat” (Verified). The “Parolă” (Password) section is missing, and you cannot add a password from the interface. |
| The “Email” / “Parolă” form on the sign-in page | Does not work for this account. Always sign in with Google or GitLab. |
| The app.blackbox.md panel | Enter through “Deschide panoul” (Open the panel) on the “Serviciile tale” (Your services) card in “Profilul meu”, or through “Panou de administrare” (Admin panel) in the account menu. Signing in directly with a username and password does not work, because this account has no password. The Google and GitLab buttons on the panel's page work only after your first entry through “Deschide panoul”: see Signing in directly to app.blackbox.md. |
| 2FA in the panel | “Regenerate Recovery Codes” asks for your current password, so you cannot use it. Keep the recovery codes you received when you turned 2FA on. |
| “Ștergerea contului” (Account deletion) | You confirm with your email address only. The “Parola curentă” (Current password) field does not appear. |
If you linked Google or GitLab to an account that already had a password, the password stays and both methods work.
If you forgot your account password
There is no password reset link on blackbox.md. You can still sign in with Google or GitLab if two conditions are met: the address of your BLACKBOX account is marked “Verificat” (Verified), and the Google or GitLab account uses exactly the same address.
- On the “Autentificare” (Sign in) page, click “Google” or “GitLab”.
- Confirm access with the provider.
- You are signed in to your account. From now on, the provider stays linked to the account.
Your old password does not change. “Schimbă parola” (Change password) asks for the “Parola curentă” (Current password), so without it you cannot set a new one: contact support. If the address is not verified, see Forgot your account password.
Security Your Google or GitLab account becomes the key to your BLACKBOX account. Anyone who gets into it can see your orders, pay from your balance, create API tokens and open the server panel. Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA) in your Google or GitLab account, and do not stay signed in to it on other people's computers.
Frequently asked questions
After I signed in with Google, an empty account opened. Why? Your Google account has a different address from your existing BLACKBOX account, so a new, separate account was created. Click “Deconectare” (Sign out) and sign in with your original address. Accounts are not merged automatically.
Can I link both Google and GitLab to the same account? Yes, if both use the same address as your BLACKBOX account and that address is marked “Verificat” (Verified).
I changed the address in my Google account. Can I still sign in? Yes. After your first sign-in, BLACKBOX recognizes your Google or GitLab account by its identifier, not by its address, and opens the same account for you. The address in your BLACKBOX account does not change.
Can I unlink Google or GitLab from my account? There is no such option in “Contul meu” (My account). Contact support.
I lost access to my Google or GitLab account. What do I do? If your BLACKBOX account has a password, sign in with your email and password. If you created it with Google or GitLab, it has no password: contact support (see How to contact BLACKBOX support).
